We're now in preparations for the second Running of the Gauntlet. CAW slots are available. Take a look around the site
for awhile, learn what the Gauntlet is all about, and sign up today!
Good question. The Gauntlet is a rigorous series of events featuring a variety of matches that will test
your CAW to the very limits. Performance is based on a point system. Each match results
in points gained or points lost for each individual CAW. And different types of matches
have different point values. There is a weekly show called Zero Hour for standard singles and
team matches and then a special event on the weekend featuring a type of speciality match (i.e. Ladder, Ironman, Cage, etc.)
For more on the point system and other general info see the
RULES
and
POINTS pages. To learn more
about each event check out the
EVENTS page.
Essentially, Running the Gauntlet is about collecting as many points as is necessary
to qualify for the final events and therefore it is consistency that rules the day. If
your CAW is a master of the cage match, but doesn't have the endurance to gut it out in
a battle royal or the fortitude to bash a little skull in a Triple Threat hardcore match then he probably
won't last the Gauntlet. It's that simple.
This will be only the second Running of the Gauntlet. The first took place on THQ's WM2K
and involved 41 total CAWs. The victor was a superior CAW named Sting Ray, managed by Seth
Taylor of Sacramento, CA. The first Running was a huge success, but the second Running, on THQ's
brand new game No Mercy, promises to be bigger and better. More match types and an improved
CAW system means this Gauntlet will truly be a test of creating the best damn CAW there is!
Great! The Gauntlet welcomes you. You're only a few steps away from determining just how good of a CAW you've created.
First, download the template provided here and fill out the form with your CAW's information. When you're done with that
send the template to this address:
[email protected]
Don't forget to include the name of your CAW's finisher and any other special signature moves he likes to perform.
Once you've done this you're CAW is in the database and ready to run. Second, jump on over to the Forum and introduce
yourself. Post your name (real or nick), who your CAWs are, where you're from (you can be as general or as specific as
you like), and finally some contact info like an e-mail or an ICQ number. All information is optional except for some kind
of name. It's nice to know where everyone hails from, but certainly not required. After you've completed this step just wait for
instructions. As soon as we get a healthy number of participants more information will come your way. Happy Running!
